Privacy policy

Last updated 17 September 2026

This policy explains what DBExplore Pte. Ltd. ("DBExplore", "we") does with personal data collected through this website, www.dbexplore.com. It is written to satisfy the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) and, for visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our product's handling of customer database telemetry is governed separately by the customer agreement and data processing agreement.

Who is responsible

DBExplore Pte. Ltd., a company registered in Singapore, is the organisation responsible for personal data collected on this site and, for GDPR purposes, the controller. Contact: privacy@dbexplore.com.

What we collect and why

Forms

When you request early access, a demo, or a pilot, we collect your name, work email, company, and anything you write in the message field, together with a consent flag and a timestamp. We use it to reply to you, to evaluate whether DBExplore fits your fleet, and, if you agree, to keep you informed about early access. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form and can withdraw at any time by replying to any email from us or writing to privacy@dbexplore.com.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the blog newsletter, we collect your email address together with a consent flag and a timestamp, and nothing else: no name, no company, no tracking pixel in the email. We use it for one purpose, which is to tell you when we publish a post, roughly monthly. The legal basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the subscribe form. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and you can also withdraw by writing to privacy@dbexplore.com. The list is held by the same form processor named below, is never sold, rented, or shared with anyone else, and an unsubscribed address is deleted within 30 days rather than kept on a suppression list.

Analytics

We use Umami Cloud, a privacy-focused analytics service that sets no cookies and collects no personally identifiable information. It records page views, referrers, and coarse device information in aggregate, and is configured to discard the query string, so a link you followed with tracking parameters on it is stored as the page alone. No identifier is stored that could be used to recognise you across visits or sites, which is why this site shows no cookie banner.

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard web-server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and fault diagnosis. They are retained for a limited period and are not used to profile visitors.

Who processes data on our behalf

  • Web3Forms, which delivers form submissions to our inbox. Submissions are transmitted over TLS and forwarded by email.
  • Umami Cloud, operated by Umami Software, Inc., for aggregate site analytics.
  • Hostinger, which hosts this website.
  • Our email provider, for replying to you.

Some of these providers operate outside Singapore and outside the EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on the providers' contractual commitments that meet the PDPA transfer limitation obligation and, for EEA data, standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Form submissions are kept for as long as we are in conversation with you about early access and for up to 24 months after the last contact, unless you become a customer, in which case the customer agreement applies. You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under the PDPA you may ask for access to your personal data, ask us to correct it, and withdraw consent. Under the GDPR you may additionally ask for erasure, restriction, portability, and object to processing, and you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Write to privacy@dbexplore.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS only. Form data is transmitted over TLS. Access to submissions is limited to the people who handle early-access requests.

Children

This site is intended for professionals and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Material changes to how we use data you have already given us will be announced by email.
